THE CREW

Robert Bruce, Writer/Director
Robert is Vice President and Creative Director of Road’s End Films, Inc, a family-owned independent film studio located outside Portland, Oregon. Robert first began making short live action and animated films while still in junior high school. After college he went to work as an advertising copywriter at Talant/Yates Advertising in Denver. He advanced to Creative Director of Copy before leaving to establish his own boutique ad agency, Cameron Communications, in Boulder. He won a number of awards, not only for his print work but also for radio and television campaigns for clients such as Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Colorado. A much sought-after writer, he has published over 200 non-fiction articles, a half-dozen short stories, and even a textbook on software debugging procedures. Over the last ten years he has devoted most of his energy toward establishing and growing Road’s End Films. Two of his first projects under the Road’s End Films banner were filmed adaptations of Shakespeare’s Macbeth and Othello for co-producers Gary Saderup and Patrick Warburton. He wrote and directed the company’s first award-winning feature film, From Kilimanjaro With Love; filmed in Oregon using all Oregon cast and crew. Most recently, he wrote and directed the innovative web series Forests of Mystery, which is being distributed by internet broadcasters Koldcast TV and Mevio and which is available on a variety of platforms including iPod and Zune portable entertainment devices.

Chris Miller, Director of Photography
Chris’ passion for motorsports (specifically rally) began as a young kid seeing Colin McRae race in the WRC in his Subaru Impreza. In college he continued to follow the WRC paying attention to the camera work and overall storytelling. During that time he pursued a career as a Director of Photography and received his Bachelor of Science in New Media Communication from Oregon State University. He honed his skills and craft as a cinematographer and took what he learned making films and translated it into shooting rally cars and producing segments for Driving Sports TV and ESPN News. He has eight years of experience as a Director of Photography filming commercials, broadcast TV, motorsports, and feature films. His motorsports experience spans from shooting local rally cross events to the national rally circuit, trans am, and time attack series. His work can be found on ESPN, FOX Sports, and DVD.

Kai Shelton, Stunt and Special Effects Coordinator
Kai has over 18 years special effects and stunt experience in the film and television industry. His credits include Into The Wild, Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Trek, Dante’s Peak, the television series Leverage, and the recently released Gamer. He is an avid collector and restorer of all things motorized, many of which he then uses in stunt work and training courses. Kai’s Oregon roots go deep, and he is familiar with many of the local off road rally races. Along with his extensive movie credits, Kai is also a stunt driving instructor and mechanic at Motorsports Driving Academy located in Oregon. Kai is a member of SAG, IATSE local 44 and 488, and PADI. He is a graduate of Linfield College with a bachelor’s of science, and currently owns and operates Shelton FX, which specializes in motion picture special effects and stunts.
