Roads End Films: About Us

There are some folks who labor under the misconception that Oregon is a remote and untamed land, far off somewhere past the edge of Tomorrow and just this side of Too Far, full of wild, hairy ape-men swinging great double-headed axes with their mighty bear-like paws, and close-knit bands of hardy pioneer women-folk taming the ever-encroaching grip of Mother Nature whilst at the same time constructing intricate multi-story dwellings out of macramé hemp and pine needles.

Okay, so some parts of that may be true. We do have our own way of doing things, and there is a lot more creative energy here than many people expect. The Pacific Northwest is, after all, the land that gave birth to Nike, Microsoft, Boeing, Amazon, Starbucks, Jimi Hendrix, Will Vinton Studios, and Wieden & Kennedy Advertising. Not to mention Jean Auel, Matt Groening, Ken Kesey, Ursula Le Guin, Ginger Rogers, and Gus Van Sant … among many others.

We at Road's End Films plug into the same wellspring of creative energy and willingness to take risks. We're located in Yamhill County, southwest of Portland, in the temperate and fertile Willamette Valley. It’s a productive region of horse ranches, world-class wineries, and high-tech business. It's a great place to live, and an even better place to pursue the art and craft of creating worthwhile movies that are both entertaining and financially profitable.
